Guns for Sale

Auction: Walther Model 9

Walther Model 9

Walther Model 9

Now on auction: a Walther Model 9, one of the smallest commercially successful pistols ever made! NOTE: Auction ends May 1, 2011. Similar in many ways to the Browning Vest Pocket, this pistol is chambered for 6,35mm (.25 ACP). It remains in very good mechanical condition however the bore is frosted throughout. This pistol carries Czech proof markings which indicate it was the 932nd pistol to be proofed in 1927. It has been renickled and retains about 95% bright finish with some dark areas in the cocking serrations. The grips are excellent, free of cracks or chips. There are no import markings and the slide is serial numbered to the frame. A tiny little pistol that weighs just 9-ounces in spite of all steel construction.

Auction: Winchester Model 12

Winchester Model 12

Winchester Model 12

Now on auction: a nice Winchester Model 12 pump that’s chambered for 20-gauge. NOTE: Auction ends May 8, 2011. It has a 28-inch barrel with 2-3/4″ chamber that is marked for Modified choke. This shotgun has lots of original blue finish remaining. I’d grade the metal finish at about 95% or better. There are a few handling marks but no rust or pitting. The original buttstock had been shortened with pad added and has been replaced. The replacement stock is of pre-war design and shows significantly more finish wear than the rest of the gun. It might refinish nicely. The original, shortened buttstock will be included. The mechanics are in good working order and there is no looseness at the takedown union (nor has the adjustment collar been moved). The bore is also mirror bright! Weight is 6-pounds, 3-ounces. From the receiver forward, she’s a beauty and should make a very fine shooter!

U.S. Military "ART-II" Sniper Scope with mount

Now up for auction: a U.S. Military “ART-II” Sniper Scope with mount for the M21 (M14) Sniper Rifle. NOTE: Auction ends May 8, 2011. It is a heavy duty 3x-9x variable power scope built by Leatherwood. This scope is in good condition with external wear and part of the serial number tag is missing (see pictures). The optics are generally good but there is some internal spotting on the lenses which leaves a slight dark “ghost” in the sight picture (most at about 10-o’clock). Crosshairs are in good condition and the lenses do not have any external chips or scratches. The zoom ring turns smoothly and appears to operate properly. Comes in the military case complete with latches and gasket (there is a different scope/rifle# written on case). Also included are a photocopy of the operator’s manual as well as the 1999 dated CMP purchase document.

Auction: Smith-Corona WWII 03-A3 U.S. Model

Smith-Corona WWII 03-A3 U.S. Model

Smith-Corona WWII 03-A3 U.S. Model

Now on auction: a WWII era U.S. Model 03-A3 that was manufactured by Smith-Corona. NOTE: Auction ends May 8, 2011. Chambered for the .30-06 Springfield service cartridge, this rifle still retains the original “S C” marked Smith-Corona barrel which is dated 5-43. This rifle has been arsenal overhauled. The pistol gripped “C-Stock” bears a boxed BA/JPL Benicia Arsenal rework stamp on the left side of the butt. Many of the various parts are “R” marked indicating Remington manufacture. Overall condition is very good with about 95% of the arsenal finish remaining on the metal with the exception of the buttplate which shows significant finish wear. There is no rust or pitting. The stock is in very good shape with some dents, dings and scratches but no crack or repairs. The mechanics appear to be in perfect working order and the 4-groove bore is excellent…bright and shape with rather low erosion readings at both throat and muzzle. This Smith-Corona should make for a very good shooter!

The stock are in fine shape with one small crack running forward from the buttpad on the right side and a tiny splinter of wood gone along the barrel channel on the right. The mechanics appear to be in perfect working order and lock-up is good and the gun is on face. The bores are bright throughout. There is one shallow dent in the right barrel that is just barely visible inside. This very fine shotgun comes with a Parker Gun Collector’s letter showing that the factory ledgers list this gun as having shipped on March 5, 1922. It also mentions that Parker notable, Frederick W. Anschutz, worked on this gun. He was Parker’s chief engraver between 1911-1930 and he apprenticed under the famous H. Gough.

Marlin 1895M

Marlin 1895M

Now on the auction block: a Marlin Model 1895M that’s chambered in the powerful .450 Marlin cartridge. NOTE: Auction ends May 8, 2011. This ballistic upgrade of the .45–70 delivers excellent penetration and energy that is adequate for the largest North American big game. The rifle wears a handy 18-1/2″ barrel which is ported for recoil reduction. Iron sights are provided and this rifle is als topped with a oni-piece base for easy scope mounting if desired. The straight buttstock features a factory recoil pad and the wood is nicely checkered. Condition is excellent with very nearly 100% of the original factory blue finish remaining.
